Welcome to the website of Joe Schraube

Three decades of psychedelic experience
In 1995, I had my first LSD experience – since then, the topic of psychedelics has accompanied me throughout my life. For several years, I organized conferences on this subject, and since 2010, I have been guiding individuals and groups on their journeys through these spaces.

Background and Approach
My work with psychedelics is rooted in Buddhist teachings and practice. This background forms the framework in which I open and hold spaces for expanded states of consciousness.
In this context, psychedelics are tools to recognize conditioning and to uncover the underlying structures of one’s own experience. The Buddhist perspective offers the necessary sobriety and a broad philosophical framework in which the emerging phenomena can find their place.
My path so far has been shaped by an interplay between Western life and recurring stays in Asia. I have explored various traditions and countries and completed different retreats.

I am repeatedly drawn to Asia – to countries where I often feel more at home than in Europe. After numerous retreats and visits to countless monasteries, I found a monastery in Thailand in 2024 that particularly appeals to me.
